Thomas est Docteur en Sciences politiques et sociales (ULB). Ses intérêts de recherche incluent les partis politiques, la participation politique et la représentation. Il fait partie intégrante du projet de recherche "RepResent" (FNRS/EoS - Consortium belge) et est activement impliqué dans le Political Party Datase Project (PPDB).
